LOS ANGELES INSTITUTE OF ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN (2019)
PROGRAMS USED:
Rhino, Keyshot (renderer), Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, basswood, Elmers Glue
PROJECT SUMMARY:
The objective of this project was to help us understand and “depict” the rules governing the logical system governing the movements of pieces in a board game and to then interpret these moves in terms of a fundamental physical duality.
PHASE I: LANGUAGE MODEL
A rule-based system was developed to create within the 24” x 6” x 6” spatial limit.
PHASE II: GAME CLUB
The PHASE I model was further developed into a  Game Club on a plot of land in the Arts District of Los Angeles. The Game Club would be a space where people who shared an interest in the game could meet, host events, etc.
GAME: CHESS
MATCH: RESHEVSKY VS CAPA BLANCA (1953)
